i seem to hear the word a lot lately. like everywhere i go, even if the people who say it don't know the next person who says it, i still hear it. today when someone said it to me during lunch, i was like... when i get home i'm going to blog on this.
so here i am, blogging about metabolism. it's really not that big; i'm sure you know what it is and that you have a higher rate than your parents - this is why old people get fat easier; they have to excercise more than we do to keep their weight the same, but they're older and get tired easier so they don't. thus, they get fat. that's your one sentence summary.
yep... it's usually whenever i'm about to eat, and the term "unhealthy" comes up. which launches the parent - i don't think i've met a kid who's said it, mostly because they probably don't care - into a whole "did you know our metabolism is slower than yours", etc etc etc, "so we shouldn't eat unhealthy food." today it was over a subway at blaine.
blaine? i was coaching my brother's math team. 5th/6th. some of my friends who are on the math team were there, too. basically i just sat on the table for the whole first half of the testing (individual/mental math) and then for the whole second half i sat on the floor. i was so sore and my legs were asleep. this is because i was too scared and tired to get up and go get food in the "hospitality room".
what person in their sane mind is up at 6am on a saturday? apparently, me. guess i'm crazy, huh?
but it was nice. for getting up at 6am, sitting in a car for 2 hours, sitting on a floor for another 2, sitting on cement for 45 minutes during lunch and listening to someone talk about metabolism, sitting on the bleachers for another 45 during the one armed juggler for entertainment, and then finally getting home after another 2 in the car, i mean. and you know, after i got home, all i did was sit around the house.
it was a great saturday.
